Imagine you can’t wait to get out of the shower and get to work - each
and every morning. Welcome to my life.
In 1991, my clients were loading
me down and my current company was laying people off. Not good. I called
my childhood friend back in Louisiana, who also doubles a business genius,
in need of direction and advice. We prayerfully formed Clayton Everett
Design December 1, 1991 with a few grand and an incredible office manager.
We selected the name that was a combination of our middle names, so when
vultures would call during those very busy initial days and erroneously
ask for Mr. Everett, they would be informed that he had recently died in
a bizarre gardening accident. That’s where the name originated.
I have been
blessed with two kids that are three years apart; my daughter Brittany
and my son Braden. I was smart to marry my college sweetheart Paula before
she became a successful real estate attorney so my close friends who knew
us back in college don’t perceive me as a gold digger. Aside from my wife,
the other member of our family who is smarter than I am is our dog Beignet
(pronounced ben-yay. If you don’t know what that is, fly immediately down
to Café du Monde in New Orleans).
What began with coloring hundreds of football
helmets and sports logos when I was 5 years old, has turned into an agency
made up of the most wonderful people I have ever worked with. An agency supported
by awesome clients that allow us to push ourselves creatively and encourage
us with outstanding art direction. In turn, I try to simply keep one goal
in mind;
to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ through
every aspect of my life and this company. Since He’s the creator of creativity
and everything I have I really owe to Him, I figure this is the least
I could do.
